The GOALS of FUNDRAISER FOR OUR FRIEND are:

1) To provide information regarding the prevention and treatment of Lyme Disease.

2) To raise funds toward our friend, Angie's, continued treatment of Lyme.

Lyme Disease is a disabling disease that has been a poorly recognized and under-reported threat to the health of Canadians for decades. Lyme Disease is on the rise in Eastern Ontario and Canada, yet, diagnostics, treatment, and physician and public awareness remain largely inadequate.

Lyme is a borreliosis caused by borrelia bacteria, which commonly infects woodland animals such as mice and deer. Ticks pick up the bacteria by biting infected animals before passing it to their human hosts.

Due to the approach of the medical system in Ontario, our friend, Angie, is currently paying all of her medical bills. Funds raised will go toward her medical visits, supplements, food, and potential breakthrough treatments.

Angie has been suffering with the symptoms of Lyme for the past four years. She has also been diagnosed with and suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, sero-negative arthritis, anaemia, swollen right knee, right ankle inflammation, right jaw pain, chronic joint pain, fatigue, nausea, lymphatic system swelling, brain fog, and the list goes on. She is in her seventh month of treatment with many more to come. Many researchers agree that the time to recover from Lyme Disease is equivalent to the amount of time they have been ill. However, with dedication to diet and lifestyle and access to treatment, this timeline can be decreased!

Angie is hoping to see big changes over the next couple months!
